The geomorphology of Ios is typical of the Cyclades, with mountainous and rocky landscapes, low hills and valleys that influence sharp contrasts.

The island has a dry climate, with limited vegetation and frequent terraces, shaped with the traditional dry stones, to hold the soil on the slopes. Despite its seemingly barren nature, Ios has a rich variety of aromatic plants, such as thyme, sage, oregano, heather and other wild herbs, which are an ideal source of nectar for bees. This flora rich in aromatic plants and the mild climatic conditions of Ios make the island ideal for beekeeping. The bees feed on the diverse vegetation, producing high-quality honey, especially thyme honey, which is known for its strong aroma and special taste. The natural configuration of the land, with its rocky slopes and valleys, creates microclimates that favor the growth of different plant species, providing the bees with a variety of food sources, ensuring honey with a unique character.

Wandering the dry rocks of Ios with the intoxicating aroma of thyme, the bees tirelessly collect the raw material for our unique organic honey.
